Olympic Games.: Sailing. Boris Johnson on Beach Volleyball. Zara Dampney.Equestrian Jumps. Outfits. Ralph Lauren. German outfits. Czech wellingtons.Dominican Republic's Tartan.

Watching the Olympic sailing could be extremely confusing, despite all the helpful graphics and so on.  Now click on link below to watch this and listen to an amusing Irish commentator fathoming out the sailing on the following link:
Canaletto Horse Guards Parade
Whenever our athletes (sometimes pronounced atherletes) came last, e.g. in the rowing, our tactful commentators would say Team GB had come 6th  etc., rather than last.

Mayor of London Boris Johnson wrote in The Daily Telegraph: ” there are semi-naked women playing beach volleyball in the middle of the Horse Guards Parade immortalised by Canaletto. They are glistening like wet otters…"

Presenters invariably quickly got into a rut when talking about Ben with this one: the ‘veteran’ Ainslie '… (he's only 35)
Lynne Truss drew attention to the shooters who wore ‘fetishistic trousers with big zips up the back of their legs’.

The fun Czech Republican athletes wore bright blue wellingtons, and carried umbrellas.

Ralph Lauren’s cycling and swimming outfits were terrific.

German boys and girls wore baby blue and pink at the opening ceremony. What a surprise.

Dominican Republicans wore a mystery orange tartan at the opening ceremony, and looked good. Internet searches drew a blank as to why.

Imaginative jumps for the equestrian course designed by Sue Benson were to reflect Britishness. So there were red letter boxes, horse shoes, crenellated castles, lions, Tower Bridge, barges, Inland Waterways, sundials etc.
