Milan Fashion Week September 2013. Spring/Summer 2014. Zany bucket and lampshade Hats. Fun Clothes. Ethnic Glamour.

Moschino
                                                            Antonio Marras
The 2014 Spring and Summer Collections in Milan as usual had smart, feminine, fanciable clothes that were fun to wear.

Prada

Zany hats resembled upturned buckets, lampshades, Viking helmets and other unusual shapes.

Daniela Gregis

The models were generally young, fresh and innocent looking. Interestingly Daniela Gregis featured an older model in a sort of blancmange hat.

Philipp Plein

There seemed to be more black models in Milan than in London, but they were still a minority.
Musso

Musso’s coat could be mistaken for a dressing gown, or sort of monk's habit.

Prada

Prada showed a teddy-bear fake-furry coat.

Shoes were strappy and clumpy on the whole. Leg warmers went with plimsolls or smart flats.

Anteprima

Materials were expensive, silky, shimmery, lacy and gauzy:  Anteprima showed a lovely glossy evening dress. Models wore flesh-coloured plain or shiny tights.

Blumarine

Some dresses had little trains, a trend that was seen in London in the preceding week.

Pucci

Stylish Italian silk prints were much in evidence.

Costume National

Pastel colours were popular, and there were also stronger yellows and blues.

Alberta Ferretti

MSGM

The ethnic peasant look is a definite look for next year, with hand embroidered blouses and dresses.

Roll on the Paris Collections, which started yesterday.
